Privacy Policy

Effective on the day the app is first released. Complete OS LLC makes Nine Iron, a golf app.

In short: we have no accounts and no analytics, and we can't see your shots. Your numbers live on your phone and watch.

What stays on your device

Clubs, shots, scores, courses and settings. They are kept in a file on your iPhone and shared with your paired Apple Watch.
Photos of bay screens and swing videos. They are read on your phone and we don't receive them.
Your location, while you use distance features.
Golf workouts, if you start one on your watch. They are saved to Apple Health on your device, and you control that in the Health app.

What leaves your device, and only when you ask

Course search. When you tap to find courses or load a hole map, your rough position (to about half a mile) or the course's ID goes to public OpenStreetMap map servers (currently run by overpass-api.de and kumi.systems), along with your internet address, as with any web request. We don't run those servers or receive that request. You can skip this and add a course by hand.
Things you choose to share. Your yardage card or data export goes wherever you send it.
Purchases. Apple handles payment and tells the app only whether you have bought it. We never see your card.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share personal data, show ads, track you across apps, use analytics or ask you to sign in.

How long data is kept, and your choices

Data stays on your device until you remove it. In Settings you can export everything or erase everything, and deleting the app also removes it. Since we hold no copy, we can't restore it for you. You can turn off location, camera or Health access at any time in iOS Settings.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you film someone else, get their permission first. A parent decides for a child.

Where it's sold

The app is not currently offered in the European Union, European Economic Area or United Kingdom.
